The chorus of Elektra/ VIDE international theatre projects
| Documentary of 22 minutes of an international cultural project. ‘The chorus of Elektra’ is a documentary about working on a theatre project beyond borders. It shows us the richness of the polyphonic Albanian singing and reveals us the cultural beauty from country that is forgotten by Europe. It is filmed in Albania during the Festival of International Theatre 2006 in the antic amphitheatre Butrint and in the village Lapardha where the traditional singing derives from. Theater director Corrina Manara was inspired by the Albanian lamentation songs and initiated and directed Sophocles Elektra, a Dutch Albanian co production.
